JOULE STUDIOS LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Kort mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (which is hashed and stored securely).

Fitness Profile: Through your conversations with Kort, we collect fitness-related information you share, including training goals, experience level, physical constraints, available equipment, and workout preferences.

Training History: We store records of workouts and training activities you report through the App, including exercise types, dates, and details.

Chat Messages: We store your conversations with the AI coach to provide continuity in your coaching experience and improve recommendations.

Voice Audio: If you use voice input, your audio is sent to a third-party transcription service. The audio is processed in real time and is not stored by us or retained after transcription is complete.

Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we store a device token to send you reminders and check-ins.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage data such as feature usage and session information to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide personalized AI fitness coaching
• Generate and update your training plans
• Track your workout history
• Send push notifications (reminders and check-ins) when enabled
• Improve the quality and reliability of the App
• Respond to support requests

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• AI Services — We use third-party AI services to power the chat coach and voice transcription. Your messages and voice audio are processed by these services to generate responses. No user data is retained by these providers beyond the request lifecycle.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available in App Settings), all of your data is permanently and immediately removed from our systems, including your profile, chat history, training records, and any associated data.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
• Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Secure Enclave via SecureStore
• Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider (never stored in plain text)
• Database access is restricted by row-level security policies

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: View your profile and fitness information in the App's Profile screen
• Delete your data: Delete your entire account and all associated data from the Settings screen
• Control notifications: Enable or disable push notifications from the Settings screen

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to Know: You may request details about the personal information we collect about you.
• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information (available via account deletion in Settings).
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
